ANSWER: I ordered this pair and another pair, and due to the relative weakness of the magnets I have thick earlobes I ended up doubling the magnets to make them stay. This caused irritation after wearing for more than four hours mostly because the magnet back is so small the strong magnetic force caused it to dig into my ear. If you purchase the large magnets as well there shouldn't be a problem, or if your ears aren't too thick the single magnet that comes with it should work just fine without irritation. by John B 3/10/2012
