In November 2010 Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton - and gave her the infamous Princess Diana engagement ring. This sentimental gift says more about welcoming her into the family then any new ring ever could. So now this ring isn't just inspired by Princess Diana's engagement ring - it's also inspired by Kate Middleton's engagement ring from Prince William!
The ring has a large oval sapphire surrounded by 14 brilliant-cut diamonds. Diana's ring, which has since been gifted to her son, Prince William, was valued at 42,000 pounds. You may not be royalty but you can certainly feel like it with this Faux Sapphire and Oval CZ Engagement Ring. It features a 3 carat oval cut glass center stone surrounded by a starburst shape of sparkling smaller, round cut CZ stones. It is made of sterling silver and rhodium electroplated for the elegant gleam of platinum. The band is 2mm thick, and the entire ring weighs 4.8 grams. This sterling silver ring is even available in sizes 4 through 12.

Some people have commented that the center sapphire is darker than they expected, but I disagree. It's exactly what I expected, just as I expected the blue color to change with the lighting (which it does do).
I have very small fingers (size 4) and I was really nervous that the stone would look too large on me, but it's the perfect size. The ring is *inspired* by Princess Diana. It's not an exact dupe. The center stone is a reasonable size to pass as authentic. If you have an exact copy, the ring would be cocktail status only.
The sapphire is a deep blue that really comes out in the light. The diamonds have a lovely sparkle.

It says 2 numbers which appear to be 8/8 then CHINA..
The ring is noce, but not as big as I thought it would be..Although I guess if it was bigger it might look fake, this way it does look "real".

I'm not sure of the carat weight, but it was too big of a sapphire for my small hands. I wear a size 6. The sapphire was too dark and too big, in my opinion. The ring is very elegant and well made and could pass off as a really sapphire ring set in white gold. There is supposed to be 14 diamonds surrounding the oval stone and the band should not be split but tapered to widen into the width of the entire band on both sides of the stones setting. Another note: In order to be accurate the band on the Kate Middleton model should be yellow gold in color.
